This new feature of Version 1.4 of the app was designed to help drivers better understand parking specifics. The user may now enter the parking space number he or she wishes to pay for, and simply click on Rates and regulations. All the information pertaining to such rates and regulations for the parking space will be shown.
For example, let’s say you want to pay for space K682, for an hour, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. By looking up the regulations for this space, you can quickly view the start and end times of parking restrictions, as well as the times when parking is permitted. Hence, if the space does not allow parking between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., this period will be shaded in red and will show No parking.
“At Stationnement de Montréal, technological development and innovation are part of our strategic directions. P$ Mobile Service is a payment solution that stems from this strategy and I believe it significantly contributes to enhancing the experience of drivers needing a parking space. I am very proud to see that we make life simpler for close to 400,000 people who have subscribed to the payment solution since its launch in 2012. Moreover, during the last week of October, 23.5% of all on-street transactions were made using P$ Mobile Service!”, said Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal.
Version 1.4 of the P$ Mobile Service app also introduces another useful feature, namely prepayment. Available during the morning for select parking spaces, this feature enables you to pay for a parking space in advance, as long as you are already occupying said space, since this is a prepayment service, not a reservation. Therefore, the chosen parking duration for the given space will be calculated when the paid parking period begins.
As a reminder, P$ Mobile Service is Stationnement de Montréal’s remote payment solution, developed in collaboration with the TC Media mobile solutions team. The solution is available on iPhone, BlackBerry® and Android™ devices, as well as on the Web and mobile Web. Service fees were reduced in June 2014, from 40¢ to 30¢ per transaction.
