Since January 1, 2020, the Société en commandite Stationnement de Montréal ‘s activities have been transferred to the Agence de mobilité durable de Montréal (the “Agency”). The Agence de mobilité durable’s mission is to ensure the management, regulatory enforcement, and innovative development of paid on-street and off-street parking throughout the city of Montreal, as well as promote urban mobility.

The Agency presents the terms of use of its social media accounts, and those of Stationnement de Montréal which it manages since January 1, 2020, (hereafter the “Social Media Accounts”) to specify how the organisation communicates with its users and manages its Social Media Accounts.

What is Netiquette?

Netiquette is a set of rules for acceptable online conduct and decorum, including behaviours and attitudes that should be avoided, governing socially responsible internet use. In particular, it identifies values to be respected for successful cooperation that include tolerance, respect for others, listening and courtesy.

Objectives of Use

We use social media to broaden our channels of communication and publish information in a more instantaneous and dynamic way. the Agency uses these tools to promote its products and services and communicate relevant information to the users of its services in the Montréal area. Furthermore, the accounts are also used to inform subscribers on a variety of topics related to parking, urban mobility and public domain sharing. .

The Agency's Social Media Accounts are not places of debate or political expression or demands, and are intended to be solely informative.

It should be noted that the fact that the Agency, and/or Stationnement de Montréal, follows users' accounts on Twitter and/or posts comments by certain individuals or groups on Facebook does not imply endorsement, support or encouragement of these activities or comments.

At all time, the Agency reserves the right to block or delete a subscriber/follower if it deems the behaviour or comments to be inappropriate. In addition, external links do not represent the Agency’s sponsorship or endorsement of or association with a third party.

Rules of Behaviour

In the context where social media are open platforms and the Agency encourages members of the public and customers to use them, we expect exchanges to be respectful. The content (notably text, images, audio or video and any other digital file) and the vocabulary used must be courteous, respectful, and decent. The Agency reserves the right to modify, refuse or delete comments or content that do not comply with these rules. The Agency will not accept the following types of comments:

  • hateful, obscene, pornographic, controversial, abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, or disrespectful;
  • hostile, insulting, or violent;
  • malicious, offensive, or defamatory towards a person or group of people;
  • violating an individual's privacy;
  • infringing copyright or any other intellectual property right;
  • political in nature;
  • encouraging or suggestig illegal activity or civil disobedience;
  • incomprehensible or irrelevant;
  • not related to the topics addressed;
  • advertising or promotional; and
  • any other comment or remark that the Agency deems inappropriate.

Individuals or groups that do not comply with these conditions may be temporarily or permanently barred from the Agency's Social Media Accounts.

Further, users who contact the Agency by means of social media assume full responsibility for their comments and the information posted about them. They use these platforms at their own risk and the Agency and/or Stationnement de Montréal is not responsible or liable in this regard.

Hyperlinks

Users are authorized to publish hyperlinks in their posts provided the content of these hyperlinks is related to the topics addressed. The Agency reserves the right to modify, refuse or delete posts that do not comply with this rule.

The Agency also publishes certain hyperlinks that it deems to be of interest, but it cannot be held responsible for the external content to which these hyperlinks lead.

Comment Management

Information and responses to comments are usually provided during normal business hours. Comments sent after business hours or on statutory holidays will be answered as quickly as possible.

It is important to note that some information must be validated prior to publication. It is therefore possible that a user who submits a request on social media may receive an initial acknowledgement of receipt indicating that the Agency has read the request and that a more precise subsequent response will be provided.

Complaints and Requests

Note that the Agency will not respond to complaints, requests or comments via Facebook or Twitter. Content Protected by Copyright

Use of the Agency’s and of Stationnement de Montréal's logos requires the consent of the Communications Department. Copyright law and legislation governing intellectual property apply at all times on the Social Media Accounts. Posting of photos, videos or any other work requires obtaining rights for use.

Update to this Policy

The Agency reserves the right to modify this external policy on social media use without notice if it deems appropriate to do so.
