Montreal, August 22, 2024 – Next summer, the Agence de mobilité durable de Montréal will open a new mobility hub in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie. Construction will take place from September 4 until December 2024 in the parking lot at 6650 rue Boyer. A second phase of the project is planned for spring 2025.
The mobility hub will provide access to a number of mobility services, reduce heat islands and improve safety for users of the parking lot. It will offer car and bicycle parking, bike-sharing and car-sharing services, electric charging stations, parklets and delivery lockers.
“So that citizens can truly consider alternatives to the car, it’s essential to offer varied and efficient alternatives to solo driving. With this new mobility hub at Place Boyer, we’re transforming an old parking lot into a genuine sustainable mobility hub. By integrating Bixi stations, electric charging stations and spaces for Communauto, along with user-friendly facilities and greening, mobility hubs not only facilitate citizens’ daily lives but also improve their quality of life,” said Sophie Mauzerolle, the City Councillor responsible for transportation and mobility on the Executive Committee of the Ville de Montréal.
“After a positive first experience, the Borough is proud to welcome a second mobility hub, near Plaza Saint-Hubert. This innovative concept offers sustainable transportation alternatives to the population, in addition to considerably increasing our borough’s resilience to climate change,” said François Limoges, Mayor of the Borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
“The site is in the heart of a dense urban area where transformation of spaces is crucial to meet current and future mobility needs,” explained Laurent Chevrot, General Manager of the Agence de mobilité durable de Montréal. “The project is part of a long-term vision to promote more sustainable and integrated urban mobility.”
During construction, customers can use our parking lot at 6918 rue Boyer or the one on rue Saint-André, between Jean-Talon and Bélanger Est.
