Secure bicycle parking
The agency is launching a pilot project to test secure bike parking.
In the fall of 2024, two lockers with six spaces each will be installed on two lots in the boroughs of Plateau-Mont-Royal and Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The project will last 18 months, including the winter seasons. The lockers will be accessible only to the 12 users during the test phase.
Cyclists wanted!
Would you like to take part in a pilot project and contribute to the development of an innovative solution for secure bike parking in Montreal?
How do the users benefit?
- Their bikes are protected from theft, vandalism and inclement weather;
- They can use their bikes all year round; and
- They can easily store their bikes in any season.
Why test secure bike parking?
- study the ins and outs of operating a secure bike parking service; and
- assess the use of secure bike parking with a view to adding it to mobility hubs.
Toward sustainable mobility
By offering cyclists a safe, convenient way to park their bikes, the pilot project contributes to the goals set out in the agency’s strategic plan. It encourages the use of alternatives to solo driving. It also leverages the agency’s field expertise and operational capacity for experimental projects.
The agency is carrying out this project in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal.
