For the past few months, the parking lot was closed as part of an environmental rehabilitation project, in compliance with the applicable standards set by the ministère de l’Environnement. Moreover, the Société sought to create a greener parking lot for the borough.

“While these rehabilitation efforts were necessary, we also took this opportunity to implement strategies to help reduce heat islands, explained Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal. To this end, we’ve installed a rainwater network for better runoff management. Also, we’ve planted several trees and added more vegetation to the parking area by placing a strip of grass in the middle of the lot.”

As a result, a greener parking lot will be available to customers shopping at Promenade Fleury as of June 19, 2015.
